NGFA League Game 10
Flames Wrap Up NGFA Season With 3-1 Win Over Terrell Mill Titans

Terrell Mill Park, Marietta, GA - May 16, 2006

Hoffner Goes 2-2, Scores 2

The  North Fulton Flames put the final touches on their NGFA campaign with a 3-1 victory over a tough Titans team to give them a 7-3 finish in the 16-under league.   The Flames would get all the runs they would need on a 1st-inning 2-run inside-the-park home run by Brittany Van Frayen.   Pesky leadoff hitter Erika Hoffner banged out two hits and scored both times. Hot hitting Jennifer Yancey had the other Flames base knock.

Flames pitching  was "normal" ....which means fantastic.   Meghan Whipple started, pitched 3 innings and had 3 strikeouts.   Erin Meyers fanned six in her 3-inning stint and only faced 10 batters.

NGFA League Game 9
Orange Crush Beat Flames 3-0 In NGFA League Action

East Roswell Park, Roswell, GA - May 8, 2006

The perennial powerhouse Orange Crush whitewashed  the Flames in league action on Monday night.   Combining good defense, good pitching and long ball, the Crush powered past the Flames 3-0.    The Flames were only down 1-0 going into the 4th but a 2-1 pitch was promptly spanked deep over the left field fence to plate two important Crush runs.

According to eye-witness reports, the Flames had two hits for the evening.  Scoop Foulke and Erin Meyers did the pitching.

NGFA League Game 8
Flames Sneak By Cherokee Pride 4-3

Northview High School, Duluth, GA - May4, 2006

Cruising along with a 4-1 lead going into the last inning, the Flames needed a couple of late defensive gems to preserve the victory.  Playing "chicken" with the chain-link fence deep down the right field foul line, Megan Angstadt made a spectacular running catch to save at least one run.  With the score at 4-3, and the bases loaded, Erin Meyers and Jenna Blakesly played battery mate pinball to catch a Pride runner at home trying to score on a passed ball to end the game.

Alli Johnson, missing a homerun by the length of a circus midget, and Chelsea Godwin each doubled.  Olivia Doud and Lizzie Roberts had singles.  Scoop Foulke, Meyers and Meghan Whipple were the mound corps for the nightcap.

NGFA League Game 7
Godwin's 2-Run Blast Leads Flames Past Crush

Northview High School, Duluth, GA - May4, 2006

Thursday Special At The Godwin  Soup Kitchen  Was A "Free Launch"

Enjoying the friendly confines of the Northview Softball Field,  Chelsea Godwin slugged her 3rd homerun of the year (and a single) at her home park to lead the Flames to a 4-2 win over the Roswell Orange Crush.   Alli Johnson had the only other extra-base hit of the game and Olivia Doud, Erika Hoffner and Scoop Foulke had singles.

Meghan Whipple (6 K's - 3 innings) and Scoop Foulke (2 K's - 1 inning) handled the pitching.

NGFA League Game 6
Attack Thumped By Flames 9-2

Noth Park, Alpharetta, GA - April 25, 2006

Doud Bangs Out Triple In Flames Win                        Angstadt Returns To Lineup- Goes 2-2                   Van Frayen's Late Double Scores 2

The North Fulton Flames pushed their record to 4-2 in the NGFA with a vicory over the Alpharetta Attack on a balmy Georgia spring evening.  The offensive assault, which included 10 hits, featured a 2-2 performance by Megan Angstadt, a booming triple to left center by the toy cannon Olivia Doud and a late, lethal 2-RBI double by Brittany Van Frayen.  Once again the pitching triumvirate of Cool Whip, Lindsey and Scoop kept the opposing team in check by only allowing one hit.

NGFA League Game 5
Flames Blank  Orange Crush 2-0 In NGFA League Action

East Roswell Park, Roswell, GA - April 24, 2006

The North Fulton Flames pitching duo of Scoop Foulke and Erin Meyers played their own rendition of Ebenezer Scrooge as they
only allowed one Crush hit for the evening and fanned 10 batters in the 5-inning contest.   Playing error free ball for the evening, the Flames got all the runs they would need on an RBI double by Alli Johnson in the top of the first.

Next up for the NFF contingent is a Tuesday, April 25th contest with the Alpharetta Attack.

NGFA League Game 4
Sweet Revenge for Alpharetta Attack

North Park, Alpharetta, GA - March 28, 2006

Suffering perhaps a bit of tourney "hangover" or maybe a dose of over-confidence the North Fulton Flames fell 8-7.   After pasting the Attack two weeks ago on their home turf,  the Flames watched the North Park team rebound from a 6-1 deficit  and push across 2 runs in the bottom half of the 5th to take the Tuesday evening league game.   The Flames are off until April 8 when they travel to Fayetteville for their 5th tournament of the spring.

NGFA League Game 3
Orange Crush "Interfere" with Flames Winning Streak

East Roswell Park, Roswell, GA - March 22, 2006

The Orange Crush sneaked by the Flames in the last inning of a BRRRR COLD NGFA League game at East Roswell Park 4-3.  With the score knotted in the last inning, a bases loaded "interference" call allowed the winning run to trot home and end the evening.

NGFA League Games 1 & 2
Flames Administer Double "Slobber-Knocker" in NGFA Opener

Northview High School, Duluth, GA - March 16, 2006

Godwin Goes Yard Twice

On a night went the Flames machine was  hitting on all cylinders, the North Fulton club delivered an old-fashioned, southern-style double slobber-knocker at the expense of an overmatched Alpharetta Attack team.    When the smoke had cleared the Flames had pushed across 31 runs on 25 hits in only 8 innings of work for the twi-night twinbill while only giving up one run and 3 hits.   With Chelsey Godwin leading the offensive assault with two left field blasts in game one, the pitching staff of Scoop Foulke, Megan Light, Erin Meyers and Lindsey Anderson were as stngy as a New Orleans insurance adjuster.
