Flames Take Mothers Day Fun Championship Mothers Day Fun Tourney -
Elim Game #2 According to eye-witness reports, it was the "beep, beep, beep" on the umpires timer signaling time had expired that set the stage for a nail-biting walk-off victory for the North Fulton Flames late Saturday night. The Flames, after putting themselves in a 4-run hole in the 1st had battled back to make it 4-3 going into the last inning. Leading off the 5th with a walk, Lara Gartner (running for Meghan Whipple) eventually came around to tie things up. Now, with the score knotted and faced with " a run wins it ...or ITB", the Flames loaded the bases and sent Erik Hoffner to the plate. As often is the case, the diminutive fleet-footed right fielder worked the count until she got "her" pitch which she promptly slammed a liner down the left-field line..."FLAMES WIN, FLAMES WIN, FLAMES WIN"!! Cheers could be heard all the way to London as the Flames celebrated the championship with a victory over the Terrell Mill Titans!!

The Flames weren't done there with the extra base hits as Lara Gartner and Kellie Wooden each clobbered 4th inning RBI triples.
