Flames Fizzle In Woodstock State Qualifier
ASA Georgia State Qualifier - Game 3
Three And Out -East Cobb Cobras
Slither Past The Flames 6-5
J.J. Biello Park, Woodstock, Ga. -
June 3, 2006
Article by Flames Reporter Doug Foulke
Looking to change their previous
fortunes, the Flames entered this game with a shuffled batting order.
The game started off quite similar, with both teams' bats providing
plenty of action to the outfield. The Flames new order hit gold in
the 5th inning, where the entire lineup batted, as they exploded for 5
runs to take the lead. The bat attack was led by Lindsey 'the
snake charmer' Anderson, who went 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 doubles
and 3 RBI. Five other players contributed with atleast one hit
each. The Cobras proved why they are one of the best teams in the
state by staging a comeback in the international tie-breaker, and
sending our favorite team home from the tournament - an uncharacteristic
early exit. Pitching for the Flames were Megbug, Lindsey, and
Erin. Even in defeat, the Flames team showed they can compete with
anyone, and look forward to future opportunities.
ASA Georgia State Qualifier - Game 2
Flames Singed By Georgia Fire Black
5-3

With the sun shinning, the Flames took
to the field with a new attitude. Each team traded 2 runs in the
first inning. The North Fulton bunch took advantage of their
short-handed opponent by later adding another run, but it was not
enough as the Fire mounted a 3 run comeback to win the game.
Both teams bats' were constantly putting balls into play, and the
outfielders stayed busy. Ali Johnson hit a triple for an
important RBI.
It was fast becoming apparent that this
event could be referred to as the 'Payback Tournament' where teams
that we have beaten in previous contests were extracting a little
revenge at the Flames expense.
An ankle injury to Scoop Foulke at the
bottom of the 2nd inning, saw her 'Iron-Woman' streak of 62
consecutive games played this season come to an end.

ASA Georgia State Qualifier - Game 1
Xtreme Bats Pound The Flames
For A 9-2 Defeat

If it is raining, we must be playing
softball in Woodstock. A constant drizzle and a hot West Cobb
Xtreme team put a damper on the Flames effort. Megbug, Scoop,
and Erin shared the pitching duties. Allie Davis scored both
runs, aided by a Lindsey Anderson RBI. The loss placed the
Flames into the losers bracket, where they could play multiple games
on Saturday.
